Making A Garage Work Bench

Being able to build your very own work benches for either your shed or your garage will give you a lot of space to do your work freely without taking up too much room. And you are unlikely to run out of design ideas regardless if you are building a garage work bench for your car or other mechanical maintenance or word work projects.Building your own garage work bench from scratch would take about half a day or so and the finished product is always pleasing.

The secret to easily building either a garage wall storage or a work bench for your garage or shed is to have a specific plan and stick to it. First, you have to determine how high your work bench would be and then proceed on marking a specific spot on your garage or shed wall at the height you have chosen using a snap line and a level then make adjustments if needed. Remember though, that if you would be using cabinets, you have to put into consideration how big you want the cabinets to be. Afterwards, using an electric drill and heavy duty bolts, you need to drill holes on the marks that you have made. You then set up the metal brackets to the wall studs, make sure that you insert the top brackets just a little below the snap line. Then, you need six cut up pieces of wood depending on the size of the work bench you want to build and put every piece of the wood on top of each bracket and secure them into place by using metal screws. You also need to use longer pieces of wood that would be needed on the support brackets that will be secured with nails and then position the remaining wood on both ends of the crossing supports, locking everything into place before you proceed on connecting the final piece of the frame onto the face of the workbench, nailing everything into place.
