Your breath and heartbeat are automatic as the energy of the body works to sustain life. From birth to death the life force animates your body’s cells causing them to create your physical self. The body completely renews itself every seven years as the cells move through their individual cycle of birth and death. On every level from sub-atomic particles to the whole body everything is in a constant state of change. The mind is the platform where energy is directed to create your life experiences. The mind can also affect the body to cause sickness or wellbeing. The power of positive thinking is an example of how the mind can create wellness. The placebo effect where people are cured of diseases by the mind alone is well documented.
Thoughts are the form that energy takes in order to express itself. Your mind and brain takes that energy and converts it into thoughts and impulses for the body to function. Thoughts run through your mind on automatic much of the time. Thoughts also work with the ego to build identification and create personality. Creative thoughts are used to solve problems and create solutions. Thoughts can also be questions that will help clear up misunderstanding and conflict. The mind is the clearing house where thoughts are sorted out. The mind is the bridge between thoughts and the energy of the creative field of creation that is your true nature.
The recognition that you are not just your thoughts will allow you to see your thoughts more clearly. It all depends on your level of awareness as to your identification with thoughts. Animals have a limited sense of self outside of survival thoughts. Humans are able to access higher states of awareness and recognize the difference between the lower self of the body and the higher self of spirit. The vehicle for the higher states of awareness is the development of the mind and the thoughts generated by it. With recognition also comes the ability to discover which thoughts create progress and those that do not. Are you listening to thoughts of stress and conflict or are you able to let them pass? Can you cultivate thoughts of peace and harmony when confronted with thoughts of stress? Everyone is on the same journey because it is our evolution to become conscious of spirit in the world of form.
By questioning your stressful thoughts, you can begin to see that they have no real power. Without stressful thoughts, the mind can be free to create harmony and peace in all your relationships. By removing stressful thoughts, the mind can create solutions much faster than ever before. The mind is able to take many different thoughts from sensory perception, memory, beliefs and intention to create responses to all life’s events. These responses become automatic after they have been established. Habits are formed by the repetition of those thoughts forming the same reaction to the same stimulus.
If you look at your daily activity, you can see your beliefs and habits at work. What you eat, what you wear, how you relate to others are all influenced by the repetitive acts of habit and beliefs. The good news is that any habit or belief can be changed by inquiry. You will not change anything until you have a reason for doing so. That reason is always initiated by response to a stressful thought. By intention and inquiry you actively participate in the creative process of bringing solutions into your life.
The unified energy field that supports all life is the source for the mind. The mind continuously draws from this expanding field of energy. Thoughts are free forms of energy expressed by the mind in concert with the brain and its stored imagery. Because the process is so fast and seamless, waking consciousness appears to be one operation. With awareness you can understand how the brain, thoughts and the mind work together to form your experience of the world.
Mediation is a practice that allows waking consciousness to go into higher states of awareness. In these higher states thoughts can be seen more clearly. Thoughts are organized energy packets that come from the individual energy field. They are created by the mind in reference to whatever activity you are engaged. If not directed the mind will create random thoughts from previous experience and projected future events. Imagination arises when the mind wants to explore new concepts. All inventions of the material world started as a thought from someone who allowed the mind to work with free flowing thought.
The mind creates the ego as a subset of consciousness to develop the individual personality. Learning to live in the world is a balance between the ego and awareness of unity. If the ego is over protective then everything and everyone will be a threat to ego’s survival. This is where a lot of stress and conflict comes from in the form of protective thought. On the other side is the realization of unity. Unity awareness is the understanding that all life is connected in the unified energy field. You share the same life force with all others.
Each individual life time is the journey from spirit into ego and then back into spirit. What you experience and how you react builds your beliefs. This process is the way you develop individuality. Along the way you have many opportunities to question stressful beliefs and inquire about life’s questions. These are the times you bring more awareness and understanding into your beliefs. Awareness is registered at the soul level and is never lost. Each life time is the opportunity to continue the process of gaining awareness of your true nature which is an infinite being of energy.

This book is an expression of my spiritual journey. When the thought of writing this book came to me, I wanted to explore individual and collectively held beliefs and test them against my understanding or awareness to see what new awareness could be gained by this inquiry. I found that any subject could be met with inquiry and a lot of beliefs fell by the way as I pushed the envelope of understanding. The journey always led back to the truth that the source of all life is also the final answer to all questions. The creative energy field of all creation, the source of all life, is the alpha and omega. Without the spark of consciousness we call life, there would be no evolution. The journey back to unity with the creative energy field is the path of self awareness. Once a topic was examined there was no barrier to peeling the beliefs away to get to the understanding of where those beliefs came from and if they were rooted in stressful ego identification.
