History Henley Rowing Regatta

Before the international rowing federation or national have been developed, Henley born and has a special place in the World Rowing. Amateur Rowing Association of England has no jurisdiction in the case because of the race with its own rules. It is a very social event with many services operating Henley quality reception. Henley is in fact only overwhelmed by the hospitality Cheltenham on show schedules business.

Despite the favorable international regatta style race multi-channel, Henley takes a knock-out draw with only two boats involved in all series. This may mean the organization of about 90 tracks in a few days of the event. To complete the program in a reasonable time, the races will start in 5 minutes.

The course duration is 1 mile 550 yards, which is 112 meters longer than the distance international standard of 2,000 meters. Because the race is about 7 minutes to complete two races are often run both on the river much the day. The event ends with the final are rowing on the last day, after the number of competitors have cut the previous day.

Races pairs and coxless double sculls, 4 Quad Sculls, 5 to 6 for Fours and Eights means a total of 19 events. In addition, the event put that work for women and men. Women first participated in a full career sailing in 1993, when a new event has been open, women's pair rowing short single. Henley each year is host to crews from around the world world, including the Czech Republic, South Africa and Greece. Eighty-eight teams were racing last year abroad.
