Are Powerplates A Good Investment
The warmer weather has at last arrived and its at this time of year when we shed our layers that many of us realise that its time for a little exercise to get rid of a few inches that have crept on during the winter.
As far as exercise is concerned I have to say I am not a massive fan, so when I heard of this magic machine that you just have to stand on to lose weight, I had to learn more.
These vibrating exercise machines have been around for a little while and seem to be priced from £250 up to really quite expensive models as much as £3000.
If I was to invest in one of these I want to make sure its not going to be a waste so thought it would be a good idea to see what they were all about.
They claim to improve fitness levels, reduce stress, improve flexibility, co-ordination and best of all increase fat combustion! What is more results are meant to be apparent in a fairly short space of time.
It is said that people with sports injuries get a benefit from using power plates. Exercise on the plate causes the muscles to contract between 30 to 50 times a second which then stimulates the metabolism and so encourages weight loss. A workout is meant to be the same as an hour spent in the gym and you can burn up to 350 calories in this time.
Vibration training was first developed back in the 1970’s in Russia and was said to have helped in the success of the National Olympic teams. Nowadays Vibration Training is featured highly in the health and fitness industry and indeed most gyms around the country have up to date machines installed.
Bearing all this in mind it seems a good and safe proposition to invest in one of these exercise plates, there are certainly quite a few good deals to be had at the moment.
