Alpine Ixa W407 Dvd And Naviagtion System

Cleaning the car last week, I was going through the usual sunday morning ritual. After washing and waxing the exterior I got around to cleaning the interior. Collecting all my cd’s and trying to find the correct boxes for each and every one, that’s the usual senario. I thought it was about time to invest in a new entertainment system for the car. Coming from an older generation, I’m not that technically minded. You know your old when your daughter asks the question – what’s a record is dad? After which you need to describe how you got your music on a 7″ piece of plastic, that only had 1 track on each side. Wow! My daughter replied that she had hundreds of songs and albums on her ipod.
So when I was on the internet one day, I took a look at what was available in the car entertainment market. These units have astounding features and functionality. I looked at the alpine ixa w407, which has cd and dvd, fantastic, the kids can entertain themselves with dvds on long journeys. Should keep them quiet for an hour or two. The alpine ixa w407 has USB connectivity, so you can plug in your flash drives. Brilliant I thought, I can put all my cd’s onto my thumb drive, or get the kids to do it fo me. That’ll save me a bit of time on sunday morning. Once you’ve plugged in your iphone into the receiver, you can make and take phone calls. It displays caller id and you can download your phone book for easy access to all your contacts. Considering cell phone use while driving is illegal these days, the hands free kit will come in very handy indeed. With the amount of features on this gadget, I was shocked to see it still had a radio. The radio has fm and am tuner, so I can still listen to my favorite radio station. The alpine ixa-w407 also has a remote control. The 21st century is where we are at, I think its about time I joined it.
