Is it true that now a university in Kalamazoo MI has set separate gym hours for women?

Why do university officials think that this okay to do to men? From what I hear, there is only 1 gym on the Kalamazoo campus.
Some people from Harvard justified the discrimination against men saying that there were other gyms on campus.
Well, in Kalamazoo there is only 1.
Doesnt’t Title 9 prohibit discrimination like this?
Why doesn’t someone from Harvard or Kalamazoo sue?
Why should male students have to subsidize the insecurities of these women?

Yes it’s true, I had to look it up though. It’s Kalamazoo College that’s doing that. They only allow women to work out between 3-5 on Sundays and 8:30 to 10 on Tuesdays. You can see it on the link I provided. There are no men-only hours.

I don’t have a problem with having women-only hours, but they should have men-only hours. Of course that’ll never happen because it would be sexist.

Servanto- Nice name-calling there. Would you feel the same way if men said they were concerned about the women they work out with, demanded their own hours, and received them?

How is this not discrimination if there aren’t men-only hours too?

Tera- It’s discrimination because women are given 3 1/2 MORE hours than men to work out. If there were 3 1/2 men-only hours as well, there wouldn’t be any discrimination.

I have a feeling you’d think differently if it was men, not women, who get the special hours.

If women feel uncomfortable working out in front of men, then they can find a women-only gym. There are many out there. There are very few men-only gyms. I can tell you I was very uncomfortable working out in front of women when I first started out (let’s face it, women stare at guys too, I’ve noticed it). I’d been laughed at if I’d asked for special priviliges, and for good reason. It is a PUBLIC gym. If they don’t like it, then don’t go there. End of story.
