And let’s not get started on that kayak. Instead, let’s rent out all that
stuff. Let’s turn it into cash. Some Central Floridians are getting in on a
growing online trend that turns ordinary citizens into mini-leasing companies.
They’re renting out everything from their golf clubs to the extra space in
their driveways. Just ask Kristin Campbell. She rents out her car all the
time. “I’ve has several really positive rental experiences,” Campbell says.
She simply lists the car on SnapGoods.com, one of a growing number of websites
that allow owners to post their possessions for rent. At SnapGoods, consumers
can find a huge variety of items including cars, cameras, and even disco
balls. Ron J. Williams of SnapGoods.com says his service makes sense for those
looking for deals, as well. “If I don’t have to buy a $15,000 HD red cam, and
instead can get it for $500 for the week or the day, I win and you win,”
